| AISPO, Italian Association for Solidarity among People, is a non profit Association founded in 1984 by the operators of San Raffaele Hospital in Milan, to support voluntary initiatives in Developing Countries. In 1985 was formally recognised by the Ministry of Foreign Affair of the Republic of Italy as a Non Governmental Organisation (NGO) able to realise health co-operation projects and training in the field of the International Co-operation. AISPO operates in close association with the Scientific Institute H San Raffaele in Milan, Rome and Salvador de Bahia, sharing with them ideals, human resources and operative capacity. AISPO implements projects for the Co-operation and Development in the field of health though the support to private and public institutions in urban and rural areas. Particular emphasis is given to the training of health and administrative personnel, in collaboration with the several Italian and International Academic Institutes which operate within the frame of the San Raffaele International Scientific Park. Last but not least are the interventions to meet humanitarian emergencies, while other activities are integrated in the major health projects for the development of micro enterprises (like the construction of health, agriculture and training structures) always within a philosophy of the environmental care and safeguard. The Association operates in 15 countries in Latin America, in the Mediterranean Area, in Africa, Asia and East Europe. |
